In preparing for the CRC Examination the following is recommended:

Know the legislative history of the American state-federal rehabilitation program and major aspects of each act.

Be familiar with the provisions and requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Know the eligibility criteria of the American state-federal rehabilitation program.

Have a general understanding of Workers' Compensation and insurance rehabilitation.

Be sure you understand the rehabilitation process (case service process).

Be familiar with issues in job placement.

Review psychosocial aspects of disability.

Be familiar with multicultural issues in counseling and rehabilitation.

Review standards and principles of ethical practice.

Review major counseling and personality theories presented in your graduate program.

Review the major theories of vocational development presented in your graduate program.

Review basic statistical concepts and rehabilitation research methodologies.

Review general measurement concepts and understand the different types of validity and reliability.

Review major psychological and vocational tests such as the MMPI-2, WAIS-R, and GATB.

Be familiar with the Dictionary of Occupational Titles and related terminology.

Review major rehabilitation concepts and terms.

Understand how functional capacities/limitations relate to employment.

Be familiar with school to work transition programs and independent living programs.

Review job analysis and know how the information is used.

Be familiar with as many medical and psychiatric disabilities as possible.
