The Plastic Issue and how to “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle” with the Volume of a Cylindrical Shell

More than 300 million tons of plastic waste is created each year. Only 8.5% of that waste is recycled. While reducing is the ultimate option, reducing and reusing is the best solution for a present issue that allows caluclus and engineering knowledge to solve. To offset the amount of plastic needed to be produced and to recycle the current plastic, one solution is to create a common multipurpose item: the bowl.

The solution to this issue is not just the bowl; this will just be the beginning. A simple bowl can help offset the amount of plastic produced to make "new" bowls or items much like it whilst removing plastic from the environment. This solution starts small but has enough potential to grow and remain useful in various fields.
