This web page is a work in progress which is a fancy way of saying that I'm making it up as I go along. All opinions expressed herein are solely the property of the Author unless otherwise attributed.

That's my basic stuff. I have all kinds of opinions on various subjects which will crop up here from time to time.
GO KANSAS CITY CHIEFS !!!!
You can check out the latest happenings in pro football at NFL.COM and my own Kansas City Chiefs at KC Chiefs.com
Now it is Year Two of the Vermeil Era and boy has it been something of a rocky ride. The starting QB, Trent Green, has yet to show me that he can really get the job done. OTOH, Priest Holmes had a Hall of Fame season last year so all is not doom and gloom. We had a decent draft this year. Mostly defensive stud dogs. I can't wait for the season to start.
In Memoriam: Derrick Thomas #58 There's not much more to be said that hasn't already been said. He left a legacy of compassion and community involvement that will be hard to beat. May God hold you in His bosom. You will be missed.

by
Frank Chadwick. I also like Colonial Skirmish Gaming. There's an excellent
webzine called By
Jingo. For colonial skirmish gaming, I like The Sword and the
Flame and the upcoming Colonial Glory I've
played other rule sets and these are about the best there are. For modern
gaming, I prefer Command Decision. The kind of board games that I
like are the grand strategy/diplomacy type like Days of Decision or
Pax Brittanica. I've played a few computer wargames but I still prefer pushing little lead soldiers around a well laid out terrain table. Although I must admit that Age of Rifles is seriously cool. Whether or not these games will eventually eliminate miniatures gaming remains to be seen. Stay tuned for further developments.
I love a good cigar. In my opinion the best cigars are not necessarily the most expensive ones. I favor a dark maduro wrapper but those can be hard to come by. I suppose that someday the health nazis will come along and tell me that I can't do that anymore and I will tell them where they can go and what they can do after their arrival. Health nazis seem to be under the impression that they can cheat death through quantity rather than quality. I'm a firm believer in the old adage"It's not how long you live but how well" but then I'm something of a politically incorrect dinosaur.
What's all this got to do with cigars? Just remember that our greatest presidents were all chosen in smoke filled rooms. They may have inhaled but they damn sure didn't suck.
Campaign Finance Reform, NOW!!! Well, the fight in Congress is over and the fight in the Courts is just beginning. I've always find it so amazing that the Corporate/Political Spin Doctors can equate free speech with the right to buy votes and political influence but then hell, these bastards can probably blow smoke up their own asses!
I've been reading Science Fiction and Horror ever since I was a kid. The first Science Fiction book I remember reading was the Classic Comics Illustrated version of "War of the Worlds". I was only six years old at the time. My first Horror book was the Classic Comics Illustrated version of "Frankenstein".
I don't care much for what passes for science fiction or horror on the screen these days. Too damn much money is spent on special effects and not enough on good scripts. Technical skill is all too often being substituted for creative ability. Some of my favorite shows are:
Consider the difference between "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and "Independence Day". In the first movie, the Aliens were strange but basically benevolent. In the second one, they were definitely evil. Consider the fact that these two movies were made only about 20 years apart. I think it shows just how much our society has changed.
Recently, a friend asked what I thought the best horror movie of the '90s was to date. Without much hesitation, I answered "Fargo". Now many of you may wonder why. The answer is simple. "Fargo" contains all of the classic horror elements. The Coen Brothers did a fine job of putting it all together. I got a real sense of chilling malignancy from the movie. It didn't have a single monster in it. Except of course for the human ones.
I've been playing RPG's since the late '70s. They appeal to my sense of play and let's pretend(not to mention the seriously ham actor in me). The first RPG that I really got into was Traveller. I've played others as well. Some I've enjoyed while others...
I also like Chaosium Games Call of
Cthulhu. There are a number of good supplements out for it. The best
come from Pagan Publishing.Their Delta Green site is great. It has a
lot of material for the Delta Green RPG supplement and some of the best
modern day Cthulhu Mythos fiction I've come across. .
I'm planning on running aFading
Suns campaign as well as keeping on with my
Space:1889
campaign.
After surfing the Web, I've come to the conclusion that nobody's webpage is complete without some sort of celebrity tribute or something. So here is my list of celebrity crushes. Make of this what you will.
This section is devoted to my opinions on various conspiracy theories. The Web seems to be full of them and most of the people that propound them are full of it. These are mostly people that are in desperate need of a life. Here are my opinions. Make of them what you will.
The wellspring of modern conspiracy theory lore is, IMO, the JFK assasination. Before that sad incident, conspiracy theories were the exclusive province of the extremist fringe. After a few more assasinations, Vietnam and Watergate, distrust of the government has become a national obsession. Now, everything's a coverup. Consider this; what if the real Conspiracy was that weren't any? What if it is all a massive coincidence or worse yet a conspiracy to make us think that the Government was this highly efficient and ruthless organization when in truth it is really a bunch of half-witted bureaucrats trying desperately to hang on to their jobs.
What's really sad is that there's this jerk named Osama bin Laden who has made it his personal crusade to trash us. The problem is that a lot of people don't take this seriously. They think that it's a conspiracy by the Clinton Administration to save ol' Willie Boy's butt.
For all of you conspiracy buffs out there, here is my version of what might have possible happened to TWA Flight 800.
Imagine if you will, Flight 800 is climbing up from NY. The sun is still visible due to its altitude. Down in the darkness below in the traffic pattern is an F-18 Hornet coming in from a routine training mission. All is normal except for a short in the planes electrical system. The radio transponder is off. The pilot, not knowing of the short, lowers his landing gear. Suddenly, the Master Arming Switch goes live and fires a missle. The pilot is blinded by the sudden flash and instinctively pulls the nose of the Hornet up. The Hornets radar paints Flight 800 and the missle blows it out of the sky. The Hornet is hit by the falling debris and goes into the water. Later, during the recovery attempt, a Navy special operations team goes in there and recovers the aircraft.
February 16th, 2001!! Well, the world is still here. The little grey men from outer space did not show up and solve all of our problems. Jesus didn't come and kick butt like so many hoped He would. Hey! I've talked to Jesus and He told me that He'll be here when he gets here and for all of us to just get on with our lives and try our best to live by His words.
