The
Somatosensory "Homunculus"
and
Tactile Acuity

The
somatosensory Homunculus is a graphic representation of how much
of somatosensory cortex is devoted to processing stimuli from different
areas
of
the body. The more space in cortex for processing, the higher the
tactile
acuity and the smaller the receptive field.
