PERCEPTION OF TEASING SCALE (POTS)

The POTS is an 11-item scale that assesses perception of teasing. It has two subscales:

1) General Weight Teasing
2) Competency Teasing

The scale has established reliability and validity. The alpha for general weight is .94 and
for competency is .78. The scale has been standardized on a sample of 227 female
undergraduates. I will be using the scale with adolescents and obtaining reliability and
validity data for younger age groups also.
