Current Program: M.S. in Biology

Bachelors in Aquatic Biology, University of Buenos Aires, 2005

Research Interests

My interests are related to different aspects of the biology of elasmobranchs. Five years of volunteering at the Museum of Natural Science “Bernardino Rivadavia”, Argentina helped me acquire knowledge in several aspects of their life history, reproduction and diet. Lately my own thesis project is more focused in the functional morphology area, the relation of form and function, especially in jaw and tooth morphology and its relation to feeding habits. My research project involves the theoretical measure of bite force in two different fishes, the bull shark (Carcharhinus leucas) and the great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda) during ontogeny. Time permitting, I will be able to compare these measurements with in situ bite force.
