Agencies such as the CIA, FinCEN, and the DEA are using network  analysis and link analysis to display data such as telecommunications  traffic (which might reveal social networks) or money movement  (fraud or laundering detection). In the commercial sector, a  supermarket might use link analysis to show that a high percentage  of beer buyers also buy diapers at the same time. By moving the diapers so that they are within sight of the beer, they can  increase the sales of each.
